This will be an opportunity to LEARN about the implications of recent court decisions and proposed CA laws from a panel of speakers.
- What to know about Dobbs, Roe, and CA Proposition 1 on the November ballot.
- Learn about the impact in CA of Roe v. Wade being overturned.
- What are the moral, natural, and constitutional law implications on the pre-born in California post Roe v. Wade.
Deacon Chris Amantea will moderate a PANEL OF SPEAKERS, followed by a Q&A session, and then an opportunity to speak to local organizations that are involved in building a culture of choosing life, and in helping individuals, couple, and families be educated on life issues.

- Chris Kaczor, Dean & Professor of Philosophy at LMU, member of the Pontifical Academy of Life, and prolific author, including two books on abortion and two on marriage and family.
- Dr. Mary Kotob, Pro-life doctor, and speaker, who has participated in events such as the Catholic Medical Association Panel and California Natural Family Planning Conference.
- Lucia La Rosa Ames, Lawyer, and President & Founding Director of MB Safe, and American Martyrs parishioner.
- Franne Valle, Local 40 Days for Life leader, former Planned Parenthood worker, and member of Abby Johnson’s Then There Were None network
Christopher Kaczor, Professor of Philosophy
Dr. Christopher Kaczor is Chair of the Department of Philosophy at Loyola Marymount University, a member of the Pontifical Academy Life, and the St. Thomas Aquinas Fellow for the Renewal of Catholic Intellectual Life at the Word on Fire Institute. He has authored numerous books, including The Ethics of Abortion, Abortion Rights For and Against, and The Seven Big Myths about Marriage. Dr. Kaczor graduated from the Honors Program of Boston College and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame. A Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Kaczor is a former Federal Chancellor Fellow at the University of Cologne and William E. Simon Visiting Fellow in the James Madison Program at Princeton University. His research on issues of ethics, philosophy, and religion has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, National Review, NPR, BBC, EWTN, ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, MSNBC, and "The Today Show.
Dr. Mary Kotob, MD FACOG
Dr. Mary Kotob is an MD specializing in Gynecology & Gynecological and prolife speaker. She holds a Biochemistry from UC Davis, conducting research in genetics, and received her MD from Loyola University Chicago. Research projects included: UC Irvine in 1977-78, Stanford/Bechman Institute in 1979-80. In 1983, she studied Plastic Surgery at Yale University. Following a surgical internship at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco, she completed an OB/Gyn residency at Albany Medical Center as a Chief Resident in 1988. Dr. Kotob practiced in upstate New York until 1993. She practiced OB at St. Joseph Hospital in California until 2000 and GYN at Hoag Hospital since 2002. She has participated various speaking engagements including the Catholic Medical Association Panel and California Natural Family Planning Conference.
Lucia La Rosa Ames, President of MBSAFE
Lucia La Rosa Ames is the current President and a founding Director of the Board of MBSAFE, a local non-profit, which assists individuals experiencing homelessness transition to services and housing. Lucia has served as a board member of the Pregnancy Help Center in Torrance, and volunteers at American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach, where she teaches Religious Education, leads bible studies, and supports Catholic pro-life ministries, social justice issues, and liturgical activities. Ms. Ames hails from Naples, Italy, where she worked as an international attorney for the US Department of Defense prior to moving to Greater Los Angeles and working as a corporate counsel at Wedbush, a local investment bank. She completed her Juris Doctorate (JD) degree at the Universita’ di Federico II, in Naples, Italy, and her Master of Laws (LLM) at Harvard Law School in Cambridge Massachusetts. Ms. Ames is a past member of the Italian Bar, an inactive member of the New York State Bar, and an active member of the California State Bar.
Franne Valle, Advocate and Speaker
Is a health care worker, prolife speaker, local 40 Days for Life leader, former Planned Parenthood worker, and member of Abby Johnson’s Then There Were None network. She holds a BS in Biology from U.C. Riverside and MA from Mount St Mary University in Health Policy. She speaks often at parishes and prolife events through out California.
