Work at the local food pantry separating food donations as well as gardening and clothing donations for the Thrift Store on March 23.  Children are welcome to volunteer with their parents.  The address is 4046 Marine Avenue, Lawndale, CA.  We can take up to 20 volunteers.  11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Food Assistance:

Food Sorting, sweeping and cleaning in the food distribution area, breaking down boxes, handing out food boxes to participants, home delivery   

Thrift Store:

Cashier on Square, sorting clothing donations, dusting and sweeping in the shop, assisting customers, breaking down boxes. 

Garden Shop:

Assist customers, clean and maintain the garden shop area, and sort and display incoming flowers. 

Office volunteer: 

Phone reception, sorting mail, data input.  Spanish speaking preferred.  

Facilities and Maintenance:

Sweep and clean the parking lot and common areas, pull weeds outside the facility, and paint and maintain common areas and buildings.  

Social media: 

Create weekly posts for Facebook and Instagram. 

Special Events:  

Community Saturdays (Food, hygiene kit, bottled water collection), Volunteering at the SBOC Annual Gala in May to help plan, promote, and staff, Turkey and Toy Collection during the Holidays.  

Special talents and skills:

Accounting, Finance, grant writing, fundraising, and marketing skills are especially needed.
